JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- All Accounts Payable Responsibilities
- Process financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, etc.
- Process vendor invoices for payments.
- Reconcile Bank & credit card statements.
- Review bank activity and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Assist with payroll and employee benefits.
- Organize and analyze account data and general financial reports.
- Prepare month-end Journal Entries
- Familiar with Inter-company transactions
- Comply with relevant reporting requirements (GST/HST, WSIB)
- Assist in audit and year-end preparation for corporate tax return.
- Maintain complete filing system to support financial records.
- Assist management with ad hoc audit requests, reports, and process and special projects as assigned.
- Maintain records related to unionized subcontractors; and send monthly remittance, filing, payments to unions. (e.g., Union dues paid by deductions at source.)
- Manage inventory of office supplies and place orders as necessary
EXPERIENCE
- Construction industry experience is preferred.
- 2 years-experience in accounting
- Excellent understanding of general accounting principles and procedure
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (QBD); DEXT Expense Report Tracking software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

- Strong math and accounting skill
- Self-starter, professional, self-confident, and organized
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial spirited, fast-paced, and changing work environment.
- Must be able to commute to office in Toronto.
