POSITION:
We are currently seeking a meticulousindividual passionate about managing projects & teams that transition AMA designs into built reality.
JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:
- Assisting and working with team members in the development of architectural designs;
- Preparing manual and computer-assisted design (CAD) drawings, specifications, cost estimates and listings of quantities of material from conceptual drawings and instructions;
- Assisting in managing client requests;
- Assisting in driving project and team members to deadlines;
- Constructing architectural and display models, and 3-D virtual models of architectural designs;
- Analyzing building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents and reports;
- Reviewing and preparing technical drawings for design development, building permit and other architectural proposals;
- Assisting in performing building codes compliance reviews and sustainability compliance reviews;
- When needed, reviewing and preparing construction contract documents;
- When needed, may supervise drafters, technicians and technologists on the architectural team;
- When needed, may supervise construction projects and coordinate, monitor and inspect work done by others.
REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of completion of a two- to three-year college program in architectural technology or a related subject;
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience with a demonstrated experience in residential & mixed-use projects;
- Proficiency in REVIT drawing production;
- Proficiency in MS Office 365, Microsoft Project;
- Strong Team Leader: ability to organize, prioritize, and drive teams and projects towards deadlines;
- Organized, and highly attentive to detail;
- Excellent oral and written communication;
- Ability to work under tight deadlines;
- Able to review and direct the work of junior staff members;
- Flexibility in changing design direction when required;
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a highly collaborative creative studio atmosphere.
