Nature of position:     Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday

 

Wage:                          $33.33 - $35.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

 

Vacation:                     Two (2) weeks of paid vacation

POSITION:
We are currently seeking a meticulousindividual passionate about managing projects & teams that transition AMA designs into built reality.

 

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

  • Assisting and working with team members in the development of architectural designs;
  • Preparing manual and computer-assisted design (CAD) drawings, specifications, cost estimates and listings of quantities of material from conceptual drawings and instructions;
  • Assisting in managing client requests;
  • Assisting in driving project and team members to deadlines;
  • Constructing architectural and display models, and 3-D virtual models of architectural designs;
  • Analyzing building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents and reports;
  • Reviewing and preparing technical drawings for design development, building permit and other architectural proposals;
  • Assisting in performing building codes compliance reviews and sustainability compliance reviews;
  • When needed, reviewing and preparing construction contract documents;
  • When needed, may supervise drafters, technicians and technologists on the architectural team;
  • When needed, may supervise construction projects and coordinate, monitor and inspect work done by others.

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

  • Minimum of completion of a two- to three-year college program in architectural technology or a related subject;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience with a demonstrated experience in residential & mixed-use projects;
  • Proficiency in REVIT drawing production;
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365, Microsoft Project;
  • Strong Team Leader: ability to organize, prioritize, and drive teams and projects towards deadlines;
  • Organized, and highly attentive to detail;
  • Excellent oral and written communication;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines;
  • Able to review and direct the work of junior staff members;
  • Flexibility in changing design direction when required;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a highly collaborative creative studio atmosphere.
