Position: Bookkeeper

Salary: $27.00 per hour

Role & Responsibilities

  • Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Prepare statistical, accounting, and financial reports through data collection, analysis, and summarization.
  • Prepare invoices and track payments and send reminders for overdue accounts.
  • Calculate and process payroll, utility bills, and other payments. Ensure timely payment to vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are categorized correctly and prepare financial statements.
  • Conduct monthly and yearly reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure that all entries align, and financial statements are accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and provide financial data to aid in the decision-making process for the organization.
  • Provide the necessary documents and explanations for external financial audits.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure relevant financial information is shared and understood.
  • Ensure that sensitive financial information remains confidential and is shared only with those who need to know.

 

Job Requirements

  • Completion of Secondary School.
  • Minimum 1-2 year of relevant experience or education (degree/diploma) in related field (e.g., accounting, bookkeeping or related field).
  • Strong computer skills including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
