Position: Line Cook

Position available: 1

Wage: $18

Work hours: 40 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Language of Work: English or Chinese.

Work location: Burnaby, BC.

Work setting: Urban Area, restaurant

Uncle Willy is a fusion-style buffet restaurant located at the heart of Burnaby. Our goal is to serve the best possible quality dishes and leave no delicacy unturned. We provide a large variety of dishes, including barbeque and grills, burgers, Asian cuisine and homemade pastries. To keep up with the growth of our business, we are looking for a dedicated Line Cook to join our busy kitchen. Our team has a diverse culture with members coming from all over the world. We are willing to support the successful candidate through any language barriers they may encounter.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook Chinese Cuisine for buffet.

• Deep fry, barbeque and pan fray Asian dishes as instructed.

• Oversee kitchen operation.

• Set up and oversee buffets.

• Clean Kitchen and work area.

• Assist head cook in planning menus, determining food portions, estimating food requirements and costs.

• Monitor and order supplies.

• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.

Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school is required.  

• Asian cuisine cooking experience is an asset.
