Job Duties
- Maintain and balance various accounts using Quickbooks, Sage50, Caseware, Cantax along with other used applications in an accounting firm.
- Prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax and other bills upon calculation.
- Ensure timely processing of payroll, ROEs, T3s, T4s, T5s.
- Prepare tax returns for estate, small businesses and corporate clients.
- Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions.
- Prepare statistical, financial and accounting reports including but not limited to monthly transactions, settlements, Trial Balance, Profit and Loss Statements and Balance Sheet Reports.
- Reconcile accounts.
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms including GST, EHT and WCB, workers’ compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field or completion of two years (first level) of a recognized professional accounting program or courses in accounting or bookkeeping combined with several years of experience as a financial or accounting clerk are required.
- At least 1 year of related experience
