Dietitian - Royal Ascot Care Centre
WestCana is looking for strong, experienced Dietitian with a passion for the elderly to join one of our teams to support our residents in Long Term Care in Vancouver .
Positions Information:
- Part-time: Days vary, 9:00am - 2:00pm , 25 hours/week
- Wage: $40.00 - $50.00 /hour
- Location of Work: 2455 E Broadway, Vancouver, V5M 1Y1
- NOC 31121
Dietitian Must Haves:
- Graduation with a University Degree in Clinical Food and Nutrition approved by Dietitians of Canada.
- Member in good standing of the College of Dietitians and the Dietitians of Canada.
- Completion of a 1-year Dietetic Internship Program.
- Two years' recent, related experience.
- Possession of Liability Insurance and Reserved Act A for tube feeding.
- Holds and maintains Valid Food Safe Certificate Level 1.
- Passes and complies with Ministry of Justice Criminal record Check upon hire and every 5 years thereafter.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written.
Dietitian Responsibilities:
- Reviews menus and performs required audits as required
- Observes the delivery of meals, checks food quality and advises Food Services to ensure all nutritional requirements of residents are met.
- Develops documentation and reporting systems to maintain records and communication regarding nutritional assessments and compliance to therapeutic diet requirements and nutritional care plans including MDS (minimal data set) or PCC Point Click Care assessments of safe practice.
- Provides clinical dietetic support to the multi-disciplinary care planning team by assessing residents' nutritional status and implementing nutritional care plans to meet those needs.
- Conducts resident and family nutrition awareness session as scheduled.
- Communicates any possible practices that will conserve and minimize overuse of products.
