Job Duties
- Supervise the food preparation and cooking, maintaining a fully stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of staff who prepare, portion and serve food
- Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
- Liaise between food counter staff, kitchen (backend) staff, chefs, cooks, management for delivering quality service. Liaising with customers, employees, suppliers, licensing authorities and sales representatives
- Ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety legislation/guidelines
- Handling customer enquiries and complaints
- Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation
- Prepare food order summaries for chef according to requests from customers
- Establish work schedules and procedures
- Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
- Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures
- Supervise and check assembly of regular and special food items
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
- Participate with employer in the selection of food service staff and assist in the development of policies, procedures and budgets
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Sanitizing and cleaning workstations and utensils
Job Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- 2-3 years of experience in food preparation or food service establishment are required or Completion of a community college program in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management or related discipline may lower the experience requirement to 1 year.
- Excellent communication skills in English. Knowledge of Punjabi will be an asset to have as majority of our customers are Punjabi speaking.
- Ability to work in kitchen for extended hours.

- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits As per BC Employment standards act, 4% vacation pay of the gross salary will be paid each pay period with 10 days of unpaid vacation annually or the option to choose 10 days of paid vacation annually with no vacation pay on each pay period. Free meals on work during the work hours.
