Nature of position:     Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday

 

Wage:                          $28.21 per hour

 

Vacation:                     10 days of vacation

 

Language required:    English, spoken and written

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

 

  • Analyze inventory every week & provide recommendations for quantity of reorders based on company requirements;
  • Recommend promotional plans with our customers to drive sales for slow selling products;
  • Issue purchase orders every week for new or existing products to suppliers in China & Taiwan ;
  • Set up part number, including barcode & UPS code creation for new products on NetSuite;
  • Revise purchase orders based on proforma invoice received from suppliers on NetSuite including all order information for finance & sales departments;
  • Check and confirm the payment requests from suppliers every week;
  • Issue shipping instructions, including quantity & mode of transport, for logistics department in China;
  • Create & issue transfer orders to transfer & receive inventory from China to warehouse in Canada;
  • Communicate regularly with team in China to help resolve issues regarding including but not limited to products, packaging, quality control & delivery;
  • Consistently negotiate better payment and shipping terms with suppliers;
  • Help source & negotiate terms with logistics suppliers and/or freight forwarders;
  • Consistently find more efficient methods to work with Netsuite to improve workflow.

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

  • Completed university degree or college diploma in business, marketing or a related program;
  • At least two (2) years of previous work experience in procurement and/or product development and/or supply chain in working with a team based in East Asia;
  • At least one (1) year of experience using an Enterprise ERP System (like Netsuite, etc.);
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Must possess the following skills: attention to detail, accurate, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, organized, ability to understand oral and written instructions, ability to organize assigned tasks.
