Employment Condition(s):
- Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent
- Working Location: 8 East 5th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5T 1G8
- Working hours: 30~40 hours per week
- Wage: Annually $47,000 ~ $53,000 (Depending on experience)
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Chef in providing leadership to a team to ensure production goals are met and managing day-to-day kitchen operations
- Maintaining strong and positive communication with team members
- Being involved in the training of team members and offering continued growth opportunities for improvement
- Ensuring team members are following appropriate policy and procedure and upholding positive workplace values
- Ensuring high-quality and consistency of food
- Supervise activities of cooks and other kitchen workers
- Work toward efficiency and managing location costs, including food, beverage, and labour
- Providing support with administrative tasks
- Helping support daily prep, reviewing inventories, and ordering to support product on hand while minimizing food waste
- Ensuring safe food handling procedures are being followed
- Ensuring compliance to Tacofino’s health and safety standards, Health and Safety Plan, and HACCP
- Ensuring proper storage procedures are being followed
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Language: English
- Education: Completion of secondary
- 1 year experience of providing supervision and direction within a fast-paced culinary environment
- Passion in creating great guest experiences in both food and hospitality
- Providing support in onboarding, ongoing training, and development, and increasing product knowledge within the team
- Experience in providing feedback, training, and support to team members
- Experience in positive and clear communication and encouraging feedback and questions from your team
- Values diversity, equity and inclusion by learning and adapting to individual learning and communication needs, alignment to goals, and contributing to a positive workplace experience
- A demonstrated passion for soulful food, people, and being a part of the restaurant industry
- Eagerness to gradually take on more responsibility and for continued growth
- Experience with an inventory management system, ie. optimum control or Market Man
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize
- Attention to detail
