Position: Long-Haul Truck Driver

Number of Positions Available: 4

Requirements:

Education: Completion of High School Education

Experience: Not required, Previous experience as a truck driver can be an asset. On the job training will be provided.

Basic knowledge of English

Should have Class 1 or equivalent driving license or should be able to acquire one.

Air Brake (Z) Endorsement required.

Wages: $27.50/hr for 50hrs/week +4% Vacation Pay

Job Duties:

• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, weighing over 4600 kg with three or more axles to transport goods and materials to destinations
• Oversee all aspects of vehicles such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading, and safety and security of cargo
• Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods
• Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights, and brakes
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Record cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other information in log book.
