Job description:

Madrona Shellfish Ltd. is located on Nanaimo Island. We focus on the production, harvest, processing, and shipment of oysters and clams. To assist with our growing business, we are looking for a Permanent Full-time Shellfish Labourer.

We offer: C$20.50/hr (30-40hrs/wk) with 4% paid vacation.

Work location: 6184 McGirr, Nanaimo, British Columbia, V9V 1R8

Language of work:  English

Number of positions: 1

Employment requirements:

-        Previous work experience in related fields is an asset.

-        Will train.

Responsibilities:

-        Assist with harvesting the shellfishes.

-        Assist with preparing and packaging of shellfishes for shipment.

-        Move shellfish by hand or forklift truck to work areas for processing.

-        Weigh shellfish, record weight, and pack shellfish in ice.

-        Sort shellfish according to species, weight, and destination.

-        Clean work areas and equipment.
