Location of work:        #104-1515 Barrow Street, North Vancouver, BC V7J 1B7 and construction sites in the Greater Vancouver area, Interior and Lower Mainland.

 

Nature of position:      Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

 

Wage:                          $27.50 per hour

 

Vacation:                     4% in lieu of paid vacation days

 

Language required:     English, spoken and written

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

  • Operate and drive primarily straight trucks to transport goods and materials mainly on local routes and short interurban routes to and from construction sites Greater Vancouver area and Interior.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment, and loading and unloading of cargo.
  • May drive special purpose trucks such as tow trucks, dump trucks, hydrovac trucks or cement mixing trucks.

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

  • Completion of secondary school. 
  • A Class 3 or D license: Candidates who have an equivalent foreign license and will obtain the required British Columbia licence will also be considered.
  • Good attitude and ability to self-manage time, as well as the ability to work well within a team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience in winter driving (truck + trailer) through mountain passes in rain and snow is preferred.
