Job Title: Painter Helper - Construction (NOC 75110)

Terms of Employment: 30-40 hours per week, full-time, Permanent 

Start Date: As soon as possible

Wage: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Job Duties:

• Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas.
• Mix, pour and spread materials.
• Setting up and cleaning up sites at the beginning and end of each day.
• Mixing paint materials as necessary to assist lead painter.
• Preparing, cleaning, and sanding the surface for painting.
• Protecting the materials by applying protective coverings, such as masking tape to the objects that could be damaged or stained by work processes.
• Sanding or sandblasting surfaces to remove the old paint, coating surfaces so that they better hold the paint.
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.
• Protecting furniture, floors, and other pieces of the structure that do not need paint.
• Assist in patching small areas that must be corrected by sanding, applying putty, prime, paint, etc.
• Report concerns their direct supervisor immediately.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Education: No Formal Education required.

Experience: No Experience required.

***Experience working as a painter or in construction would be considered an asset. On-the-job training will be provided.

Language: Basic English is required.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive Tasks, physically demanding requires bending, Crouching, Kneeling, handling heavy loads, requires lifting, Pulling, and carrying of equipment and other objects, Standing for long period of time, Hand-eye co-ordination.

• Ability to bend, crouch, stand and kneel for long extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
