Position Description                                                                                                                                                                 

Position: Construction Helper

Type of employment: Full-Time

No of positions: 3

Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible

Work Location: Various locations in Lower Mainland (BC)

 

Salary and Benefits 

Salary: $27.50 per hour

Job Responsibilities 

  • Assist skilled tradespersons in renovation projects by providing tools, equipment, and materials as needed, and supporting various tasks.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from our work sites.
  • Prepare construction areas by digging trenches, backfilling holes, and compacting earth for renovations.
  • Set up and dismantle temporary structures, like scaffolds, barricades, and signage, as required.
  • Keep the work site clean by removing rubble and debris during renovations.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble construction materials under the guidance of tradespeople.
  • Prepare surfaces for renovations by cleaning and ensuring they are ready for work.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment by maintaining open communication with team members.
  • Follow tradesmen's instructions to mix, pour, and spread materials accurately.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and procedures at all times.
  • Maintain and care for construction equipment, cleaning and safely storing it after each work shift.
  • Plan and participate in team meetings to discuss progress, resolve issues, and plan upcoming tasks.

 

Job Requirements 

  • No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects.
  • Excellent team player with good English communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
