Position Description 

Position: Technical Support Analyst

Type of employment: Full- time; permanent

Work Location: Various locations in BC (as per company’s contracts with the clients)

Job Responsibilities 

  • Investigate, document, troubleshoot, and resolve a variety of computer system issues, including business systems, networks, and internet problems.
  • Utilize technical manuals and resources to identify and apply solutions to technical challenges faced by end-users.
  • Provide guidance and training to users on resolving technical difficulties.
  • Address network connectivity and security challenges, including setting up firewalls and antivirus programs.
  • Set up and adjust software and hardware configurations to meet user needs.
  • Maintain records of IT configurations, installations, maintenance activities, and security protocols.
  • Perform routine backups and examine system logs to proactively address potential issues.
  • Manage user access rights and permissions to ensure IT infrastructure security.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans and stay informed about technological advancements.
  • Work with clients to understand business requirements and develop tailored data solutions, including data models, flows, and transformations.
  • Support data extraction, loading, validation, and assist users with data reporting and analysis.

 

Job Requirements 

  • Education in computer science, computer programming, network administration, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, network fundamentals, and system security measures, including the use of firewalls and antivirus software.
  • Experience with system backups and recovery procedures.
  • Ability to set up, configure, and manage user accounts and permissions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, employing a logical and methodical approach.
  • High level of customer service proficiency, focusing on empathizing with users and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage workload in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent team collaboration abilities, with a focus on contributing positively to a team setting.
